I use johnson's baby no tears shampoo, it works great for me, plus its cheap. It also doesn't have such harsh scents as most shampoos do.

All new guinea pigs are like that. Don't worry, my piggies were skittish like that for the first month or two I had them as well. As long as you hold him consistently, he will grow out of it. (A fewcarrots might just do the trick too! ;D)

 Question About Handling
« Result #4 on Jul 16, 2005, 3:27pm »

??? ??? ???

Piglet is only 9 weeks old, but he HATES being picked up! He's okay once I'm holding him, but it's the initial picking up that he runs from. Does anybody know if this is something that he'll grow out of, or am I doing something wrong??

I clipped Oreo's nails. He was such a good boy, he just sat there and let me do the clipping. :)

 fruit and veg smoothies
« Result #6 on Jun 29, 2005, 12:45pm »

:) A person on another message board got this idea one day. you put fruit of veggies in a blender with some water and blend it all together and then mix the smoothie together with the food. Oreo,(my brother's guinea pig), adn Chippy,(my guinea pig), liked it.

One of my pigs does the same. I take it, put it on its back, my left hand holds it so that it can not bite and at the same time holds its finger. My right hand cuts the nail ;)
